That brand is the controller of your data. You can contact the brand directly or write to hello@getplugmesh.com — we will handle it together with the brand and get back to you.
Remove the PlugMesh connection under Settings → Apps and Websites. This invalidates the access tokens, and we delete the data obtained through Meta within 30 days.
Simply uninstall the app from your store admin. We process Shopify’s mandatory redaction notices automatically — no separate request is needed.
1. Who this page is for
- End customers: people who interacted with a brand using PlugMesh over email, SMS, WhatsApp or Instagram.
- Brand administrators: PlugMesh customers who want to delete data in their workspace, or the entire workspace.
- Shopify merchants: stores that uninstall the app or receive a deletion request on behalf of a customer.
2. Deleting via Facebook and Instagram
PlugMesh uses Meta APIs solely for the customer communication of the brand that connected the account. To remove the connection:
- On Facebook: go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, select PlugMesh from the list and choose Remove.
- On Instagram: remove PlugMesh’s access under Settings → Website permissions / Apps and websites.
- Once removed, access tokens become invalid and the message snippets, form responses and profile identifiers we obtained through Meta are deleted within 30 days.
- If you want only your own data deleted (without affecting the brand’s connection), use the email route below.
3. Requesting deletion by email
Write to hello@getplugmesh.com and include the following so we can locate your records:
- Which brand you were in contact with (brand or store name).
- Which channel was used (email, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram).
- An identifier: your email address, phone number or Instagram username.
- What you are asking for: full deletion, or only removal from the contact list?
- Once we have reasonably verified your identity we process the request and confirm the outcome in writing.
4. In-app deletion for brand administrators
- To delete a single customer: open the profile from the Customers screen and delete it. The profile, its events, consent records and delivery history are removed.
- To close the whole workspace: write to hello@getplugmesh.com with the workspace name. You get a 30-day export window after closure, and the data is then deleted.
- To remove an integration: disconnect it from the Integrations screen; the related access tokens are invalidated and stored credentials are wiped.
5. Shopify stores and their customers
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends the shop/redact notice 48 hours later; we delete your store’s order and cart records, close the account and wipe the access token.
- When a customer requests deletion, Shopify sends customers/redact; we automatically delete that person’s profile and commerce records.
- We log customers/data_request notices and respond together with the store owner within 30 days.
6. What is deleted and what is kept
After a deletion request every record identifying the person is removed. The exceptions are:
- Opt-out record: an irreversible hash of the email/phone is kept so that you are not contacted again.
- Invoices and accounting records: kept for the period required by tax and commercial law (up to 10 years).
- Aggregate statistics: counters and reports that do not identify anyone (for example “1,240 messages delivered in this campaign”) are retained.
- Backups: removal from backups taken before the deletion follows the backup rotation and takes at most 90 days; during that time backups are used only for disaster recovery.
7. Timing and confirmation
- We acknowledge your request within a reasonable time and complete it within 30 days at the latest.
- If we cannot fulfil it (for example the identity cannot be verified, or a statutory retention obligation applies) we explain the reason in writing.
- For the full list of your rights, see the Privacy Policy.
